For classrooms, clinics, libraries and family programs

A decodable book for every child, starring that child

A class set is not thirty copies of one book. It is thirty books, each about one reader: their name on the cover, their face on every page, their family in the story, and a line in their home language for whoever reads with them.

How it works

You choose the pack and the product; we send you one link per child. Each family opens their link and creates their child’s character (no photos unless you allow them). Books arrive as PDFs to print, or printed and shipped to you.

What it costs

Programs pay once, by invoice or purchase order, per seat. Sliding scale for Title I schools, Head Start, clinics and resettlement agencies: tell us who you serve and we will quote to fit.

What it teaches

Systematic, explicit phonics in a common synthetic order (short vowels, digraphs, long vowels, blends), one sound per pack, decodable connected text checked by a rule, a teacher guide per pack, and a reading-together page for families. See a teacher guide.

Built for culturally sustaining classrooms

  • Family & Community stories, where the grandmother in the book is the child’s own grandmother (Gran, Nana, Abuela, Lola, Bibi), are coming with the pilot.
  • Skin tone, hair texture and style, head coverings, glasses, hearing aids and wheelchairs are named in the painting instructions and checked on every page. Our representation promise.
  • Nothing about a holiday, a food or a place of worship is a default; the family chooses.
  • English captions stay decodable; home-language lines for grown-ups are coming with community partners.
  • Photos are optional. Programs that cannot collect photos use the character builder instead.
